Hiroko OSHIO
Born 1990 in Nara as a first daughter of Shozan OSHIO IV.
Graduated from the University of Tokyo (Medicine) in 2014.
Became a specialist in cardiology after training at the University of Tokyo Hospital and the Cardiovascular Institute Hospital, and works as a doctor specializing in catheter treatment, while also working on ceramic arts in the atelier Shozan, with the skills learned alongside her father from an early age.
Has exhibited at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, Ginza Mitsukoshi, and Shinsaibashi Daimaru.
Obtained a wine expert qualification while in school, and then a SAKE Diploma, and became the youngest Wine Expert Excellence (formerly Senior Wine Expert) at the age of 30.
Also involves in the production of tea ceremony utensils and various sake vessels that transcend the boundaries between Japanese and Western styles making use of her knowledge.
“Swiring-guinomi” (Sake cup easy to swirl), her representative work, was selected for the 45th JAPAN’S TRADITIONAL CRAFT COMPETITION and was also featured on the NHK BS4K program "AtenaYoru."
